Dorota Rabczewska, known professionally as Doda, was born on February 15, 1984, in Ciechanów, Poland. She began her music career at the age of 16 when she became the vocalist of the Polish rock band Virgin. The group released its self-titled debut album, Virgin, in 2002, followed by Bimbo (2004), which reached Number 1 in Poland and featured the single “Dżaga.” Virgin released Ficca in 2005, featuring songs including “Znak pokoju” and “Szansa,” before disbanding in 2007. Doda subsequently launched her solo career with the album Diamond Bitch (2007), featuring “Katharsis,” with “Nie daj się” appearing on its 2008 reissue. Her subsequent studio albums included 7 pokus głównych (2011), Dorota (2019), and Aquaria (2022). She received the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Polish Act in 2007, 2009, and 2023. In 2026, Doda released the single “Pamiętnik,” marking her first new music in approximately two and a half years.
