Reverend Bizarre was a Finnish doom metal band formed in Lohja, Finland, in 1994 by Sami Hynninen, Kimi Kärki, and Juippi. Initially aiming to promote traditional doom metal, the group released its first demo, Slice of Doom, in 1999. The lineup solidified with the addition of Jara Pohjonen on drums and additional guitars, performing alongside Hynninen on bass and vocals and Kärki on guitar. In 2002, the band released its debut studio album, I: In the Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend, through Sinister Figure, followed by the EP Harbinger of Metal (2003) and the EP Return to the Rectory (2004). Subsequent releases include the studio album II: Crush the Insects (2005), the single "Teutonic Witch" (2007), and its final studio album, III: So Long Suckers, which was released on August 8, 2007. The band toured across Europe and the United States, performing notable songs such as "Doomsower" and "Council of Ten". The group disbanded in late September 2007.
