Almamegretta, an Italian music group, was formed in 1988 in Naples by Gennaro "Gennaro T" Tesone, Giovanni Mantice, Gemma Aiello, Gianni Guastella, and Patrizia di Fiore. The band's name translates to "migrant soul" or "wanderer soul." Almamegretta embarked on a tour of Italy in 1992 and released their first EP, Figli di Annibale, in 1993. In the same year, Stefano Facchielli “D.RaD” joined as a sound engineer and dub-maker during the production of their debut album Animamigrante (1993), which won the Targa Tenco award for Best Debut Album in 1994. The band's subsequent albums include Sanacore 1.9.9.5 (1995), Lingo (1998), and 4/4 Quattro Quarti (2000). They founded their own label Sanacore and released Sciuoglie 'e cane (2003). Tragically, D.RaD died in a car accident in 2004. The band continued as a tribute to him, releasing Sciuoglie 'e cane Live 2004 later that year.
