Die Braut haut ins Auge was a German all-female rock and pop band formed in 1990 in Hamburg, consisting of Bernadette Hengst, Peta Devlin, Karen Dennig, Barbara Haß, and Katja Böhm. Initially facing difficulties securing a record label, the band released their first self-titled double single with financial support from friends. Their debut album, Die Braut haut ins Auge, was published in 1994 by Sony BMG Music Entertainment. After Barbara Haß left the group, they released Was nehm ich mit? in 1995 and embarked on tours across Germany and America. In 1997, Die Braut haut ins Auge performed at the largest Russian rock festival in Saint Petersburg. Their final studio album, Pop ist tot, was released in 1998. The band disbanded in 1999, concluding with a live album titled +1 auf der Gästeliste and a farewell tour from April to May 2000.
