Cataract, a Swiss thrash metal band, was formed in 1998 by members of Mine, Damage ID, and Cease. Their self-titled demo sold over 2,000 copies, gaining them recognition in both the metal and hardcore scenes. The band released their debut album Golem in 2000 via Ferret Music. Federico Carminitana replaced Christian "Mosh" Ebert as vocalist in early 2001. Subsequent albums included Great Days of Vengeance (2003), With Triumph Comes Loss (2004), and Kingdom (2006). The band toured extensively, including performances at major festivals like Wacken Open Air and With Full Force Open Air. Their album, Killing the Eternal, was released in 2010. The band announced their disbandment in 2013 due to creative stagnation and other priorities, concluding with a farewell concert on March 18, 2017.
