The Funeral Orchestra is a Swedish funeral doom metal band formed in 2002 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The group released their debut album Feeding the Abyss (2003) via Aftermath Music. They are known for performing in black robes and golden masks, with members identified by numbers, including Leif Nicklas Rudolfsson of Runemagick as "Priest I." Notable releases include the EPs ODO (2008) and Negative Evocations (The EP) (2020), and the split EP The Northern Lights II with Ocean Chief (2010). In 2020, they released two albums: Apocalyptic Plague Ritual MMXX independently and Negative Evocation Rites via Nuclear War Now! Productions, which received significant international attention for a unique take on funeral doom metal. Other notable releases include the album Slow Shalt Be the Whole of the Law (2006), the split album Korp (2018), and the single "Den mörka shamanens glöd" (2015).
