Jonathan Richard Cooper, born in 1970, is a London-based DJ and record producer who performed under the moniker Jon Pleased Wimmin. Growing up in London after being born in Brazzaville, Congo, Cooper studied fashion design before launching a cross‑dressing cabaret act that attracted the attention of DJ Danny Rampling, who booked the group for the club night Glam. In 1993, Cooper opened the club night Pleased on Sutton Row, transitioning from performer to DJ and producer. His breakthrough came in 1995 with the club hit "Passion", produced by Norman Cook, which topped the UK Dance Chart. Cooper also provided a mix for the Ministry of Sound compilation One Half of a Whole Decade. After a decade‑long hiatus during which he completed a degree in Popular Music in Edinburgh, he returned to the scene in 2011, performing again, and later released the single "Don’t be Scared (of Yourself)" in 2015. In 2019, he remixed Wow & Flutter’s "Grace Jones", receiving a 7/10 review from Mixmag.
