Rockhaus, a German rock band from East Germany, was formed in 1978 when two school bands merged. The group made their breakthrough into the DDR rock scene in 1981 and released their debut single "Disco in der U-Bahn" / Die neue Lehrerin in 1983. Their first album, Bonbons und Schokolade, was released the same year by Amiga Records. Rockhaus gained significant popularity with hits like "Ich liebe Dich" from their 1988 album I.L.D., which topped the East German year-end charts that year and again in 1989 with "Mich zu lieben". After reunification, they released two more albums before disbanding in 1998 due to internal issues. Mike Kilian continued as a solo artist while Rockhaus reunited for tours starting in 2005. Later releases include Treibstoff (2015) and Akustik Zoo (2024). Carsten Mohren, a key member, passed away in January 2017.
