Édouard Duleu, born on April 21, 1909 in Wattrelos, France, was an accordionist and composer. He began his musical training at age eleven under Charles Verstraete père. In the 1930s, Duleu moved to Paris and worked as a firefighter. During World War II, he relocated to Toulouse and gained recognition through popular dance events. Upon returning to Paris, he signed with Philips Records and released recordings such as Trompette-Musette and Marianne. Duleu settled in Gauré in 1954 and was friends with notable figures such as Georges Brassens. His career totals included 140 albums, seven gold records, and more than 25 million discs sold. He received the Grand Prix du disque de l'Académie Charles-Cros in 1955 and was made Commandeur of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 1994. Duleu died on October 26, 2001.
