Ezio

Ezio is a British pop-folk ensemble from Cambridge established in 1990. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by folk and for being named after the lead singer and composer Ezio Lunedei. The ensemble was founded in 1988 or 1989 by the guitarists Ezio Lunedei and Mark Fowell. Their recording career began with two independent studio recordings before signing with the label Arista Records in 1995. Ezio achieved professional recognition for the song "Cancel Today", which was chosen by the politician Tony Blair for the radio program Desert Island Discs. The selection led to significant airplay and the ensemble's recordings selling out in retail locations. Their discography included the debut studio recording The Angel Song (1993) released on the label Salami Records and the studio recording Black Boots on Latin Feet (1995). The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Diesel Vanilla (1997) and the studio recording This Is the Day (2010). Their recording career included the compilation recording Lost and Found (Volume 2) (2006) and the studio recording Daylight Moon (2016). The ensemble's performance lineup varied based on the venue and included the musicians Lidia Cascarino, Lee Russell, and Alex Reeves.
