Jarcha is a Spanish folk music group formed in Huelva, Spain, in 1972 by Maribel Martin, Lola Bon, Antonio Angel Ligero, Angel Corpa, Crisanto Martin, Gabriel Trave, and Rafael Castizo. Their debut studio album, Nuestra Andalucia (1974), introduced the group's focus on traditional Andalusian songs and socially conscious original compositions. The group released albums such as Andalucia vive (1975), Cadenas (1976), En el nombre de Espana paz (1977), and Por las pisadas (1978). In 1975 they also recorded the rock opera Lider, dedicated to Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera. Their 1976 hit single “Libertad sin ira” reached Number 1 on the Spanish charts in December 1976, became an unofficial anthem of Spain's transition to democracy, and earned the band a public vote as the best group in Spain for 1975 and 1976. The group later released the album Andalucia en pie (1980), the compilation Grandes canciones (1981), and the compilation album Libertad sin ira y otros exitos (1997). In 2024, a street in Huelva was named after the group, and they received the Medalla de Andalucia "Manuel Clavero".
