The Deller Consort, a British vocal and instrumental ensemble specializing in Renaissance and Baroque music, was founded in 1948 by contratenor Alfred Deller. The group initially gained recognition for its performances of early music, with notable recordings including Machault: Messe Nostre Dame (1961) and Vecchi: L'Amfinparnaso (1962). In 1964, Alfred Deller's son, Mark Deller, joined the ensemble. After Alfred Deller's death in 1979, Mark took over as director. The group featured prominent musicians such as Rogers Covey-Crump and Gerald English. Later albums include Purcell: Welcome to All the Pleasures (1989) and Purcell: Olinda Theatre Music & Sacred Songs (1990).
