Kiya Lacey is an American singer-songwriter whose forward-thinking brand of electro-pop borrows elements from hip-hop, trip-hop, and avant-garde music. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, she emerged onto the scene in 2015 with the Wonder Twins-produced EP Fall in Love, which received extensive coverage from local media and established her as one of the city's most promising up-and-coming independent artists. In 2017, she hit a major career milestone after becoming the first woman to feature in Nashville’s Red Bull Sound Select. During this time, she also found time to collaborate with left-field producers such as TOKiMONSTA and Monte Booker, who featured her on the track "Don't Panic," built from found sounds recorded in Chicago. The 3-track audiovisual project Earth Wind & Fire arrived later that year, quickly generating buzz due to its ominous, sultry sound and its themes of female empowerment. Following a cover story in Native Magazine and an appearance in British Airlines' High Life publication, Kiya Lacey launched NOT MY FIRST RODEO, a series of events in Atlanta dedicated to showcasing Southern music and culture. In 2020, she dropped the EP 6. Over the next few years, the Nashville native continued recording and touring, opening for established acts like Brandy, Doja Cat, and Big Freedia while also expanding her musical identity through singles such as "Cash" (2021), "RED EYE" (2022), and "AWAY" (2023).
