Lucky People Center is a Swedish music and film collective founded in Gothenburg, Sweden by Lars Åkerlund, Johan Söderberg, and Sebastian Öberg. Their debut release, the maxi single "It's Still Cloudy in Saudi-Arabia" (1991), addressed the Second Gulf War using samples from prominent political figures. The group gained recognition with their 1992 release "Rodney King", accompanied by a video adaptation which was nominated for the 1993 International Media Art Award. Their debut album, Welcome to Lucky People Center (1993), compiled previous releases and included tracks from the film Information is Free. Subsequent albums like Interspecies Communication (1995) and Interference (1999) showcased their evolving sound with ambient and trance elements.
