Die Buben im Pelz, an Austrian alternative rock band, was founded in 2014 by Christian Fuchs and David Pfister. The duo had previously collaborated in the activist band Neigungsgruppe Sex, Gewalt und Gute Laune from 2003 to 2012. Their debut album Die Buben im Pelz & Freundinnen, released in 2015, featured a radical interpretation of Velvet Underground's debut album, translated entirely into the Viennese dialect with collaborations with various musicians such as Dorit Chrysler and Monsterheart. This album received critical acclaim, being named an Album of the Year by Die Welt in 2015. The band has also been featured in various museums and festivals, including the Städel Museum Frankfurt and Analog Mania Festival in Timisoara.
