Café Unterzucker was a German children's and folk music group from Munich, formed around 2013. The ensemble consisted of multi-instrumentalist Tobias Weber, lyricist Richard Oehmann, harmonica player Anton Gruber, drummer Greulix Schrank, and brass player Micha Acher, who also performed with The Notwist. Weber composed the music, while Oehmann wrote the lyrics, often incorporating Bavarian dialect and absurdist themes. Their repertoire spanned genres including Ska, Blues, Dixieland, Wienerlied, and Bluegrass. The group released the debut album Leiser! in 2013, which was nominated for the Kindermusikpreis Leopold in 2015. It was followed by Bitte, Mammi, hol mich ab (2015); both recordings were selected as “Kinderfavoriten” by Bayern 2, BR, and WDR. Café Unterzucker expanded their discography with the albums Nenn mich nicht mehr Häselein (2020) and Freu dich mal! (2023). The band also collaborated with the Chor der Romantiker e.V. and featured characters from the project Doctor Döblingers geschmackvolles Kasperltheater.
