The Meffs are an Essex punk duo formed in 2019 by vocalist and guitarist Lily Hopkins and drummer and backing vocalist Lewis Copsey. Their early singles included “Austerity” (2021), and that year they performed at Frank Turner’s Lost Evenings festival at London’s Roundhouse. Turner later produced the duo’s Lockdown Singles EP (2022) and the paired Broken Britain Pt. I (2022) and Broken Britain Pt. II (2023) EPs. The EPs were collected as Broken Britain (PT.I & II) in 2024, reaching number 32 on the UK Official Record Store Chart. After the singles “Clowns” and “F.R.S.F.” in 2024, the duo released their debut album, What A Life, that year. In 2026, “Where Did It All Go Wrong?” previewed their second album, Business, released that September. The album reached number 42 on the UK Official Albums Chart, number three on the Official Rock & Metal Albums Chart, and Number 1 on the Independent Album Breakers Chart.
