Tobias Wiklund

Tobias Wiklund, born on January 28, 1986, in Sweden, is a Swedish jazz trumpeter and cornetist. Growing up in Gävle, his interest in jazz was sparked when he received a Louis Armstrong record from his father. At the age of 20, he moved to Copenhagen to study at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory. In 2009, Wiklund played with the European Jazz Youth Orchestra under Peter Herbolzheimer. He has performed with notable ensembles such as the DR Big Band and Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, and collaborated with Maria Faust on several albums. His debut album Where the Spirits Eat was released in 2019 via Stunt Records. Wiklund followed this with Tak for dit brev (2021) and Silver Needle (2022), the latter of which was highlighted as a "Jazz Album of the Week" by NDR.
