Os Cascavelletes was a Brazilian rock band formed in 1986 in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, by Flávio Basso and Nei Van Soria following their departure from the group TNT. The lineup was completed by Frank Jorge on bass and Alexandre Barea on drums. The band gained local prominence with the cassette release Vórtex Demo (1987), followed by the self-titled EP Os Cascavelletes (1988) and the live bootleg Ao Vivo no Ocidente (1988), which was recorded at the Ocidente venue in Porto Alegre. The EP featured the hit single “Estou Amando uma Mulher”. Jorge left the band and was replaced by Luciano Albo, while Humberto Petinelli joined on keyboards. The group signed with EMI-Odeon and released the debut studio album Rock'a'ula (1989), featuring the single “Nêga Bombom” which appeared on the television soundtrack of the telenovela Top Model. The group released the single “Homossexual/Sob um Céu de Blues” in 1991 before disbanding. Basso died on December 21, 2015.
