David Alexander, who was born in 1938 and died of a heart attack on February 4, 1995, was a Welsh singer and entertainer who began performing in local social clubs before gaining wider notice. His debut single, “If I Could See the Rhondda One More Time” (1971), was released by the Columbia label of EMI in 1971 and introduced him to a national audience, followed by “Dream On Dreamer” (1971) and the 1974 single “Taste the Wine” (1974), which was released on Penny Farthing. His debut studio album, So Many Ways (1975), was released on his own label in 1975, and he subsequently released a series of albums through his ACE Recordings label, which include All in Love is Fair (1977), the self-titled album David Alexander (1980), and Reflections (1986), which went on to sell 800,000 copies in 1988. He represented Britain at the Bratislava Song Festival in Czechoslovakia, toured Australia in 1989, and eventually settled in Tenerife, Spain, in 1991.
