Jens Albert was born on September 27, 1973 in Lüdinghausen. He is a German rapper and DJ who made his mark in German hip-hop in the late 1990s as Der Wolf. In the early 1990s, Jens Albert began DJing and performing as a scratch DJ and rapper. In 1997, he released his debut albumDas Album(1997), which reached the album charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The singles "Gibt's doch gar nicht" (1997) and "Oh Shit - Frau Schmidt" (1997) emerge fromDas Album. Both become audible hits in Germany. In 1998 he released the albumMusik aus (M)Einem Jahrzehnt(1998). The albumWas soll ich sagen followed in 2000, which achieved only moderate commercial success. In 2016, he released the albumTurbo Funk, which contained new versions of classic tracks and new pieces. Further releases in the 2010s and 2020s include individual video projects and EPs such asWolf GTI(2016) and the single "Ne, is klar" (2018). As a DJ, he is part of the formation The Killergroove Formula. He has also been part of the Dortmund funk-rock formation Higher BuBu since 2009. His music combines rap with sampled funk and soul beats and plays within the hip-hop genre.
