Die Alpenrammler, a German rock duo consisting of Holger Kysela and Alex Havrilla, was formed in 1997 in Starnberg. The band's musical repertoire focuses on popular folk tunes reimagined with rock arrangements and playful lyrics. Die Alpenrammler gained national attention in the spring of 1998 with their debut single "Lieschen, Lieschen", a cover of the Ambosspolka that became popular during the winter season of 1997/98 on Alpine ski slopes. The song reached the German charts following its release as a single. In early 1999, they released another hit single, "Alles wunderbar" and "Nimm mich", which were also well-received by audiences. After their third single failed to achieve significant sales, Die Alpenrammler switched labels from Polydor to DA Music in Diepholz. Their first album, Freudenhaus, was released in the fall of 2000 and included popular tracks such as "Geile Hühner" and a mix of their earlier hits. In April 2013, they published a compilation album titled Knüppel streck dich!, which included nearly all their previously released tracks.
