Matthias Lindermayr, born in 1987 in Munich, Germany, is a jazz trumpeter and composer. From a musical family, he began classical piano training at a young age before switching to trumpet at 12. Lindermayr studied jazz trumpet at the University of Music and Performing Arts Music under Claus Reichstaller and later pursued composition with Gregor Hübner. He released his debut album Lang Tang in 2015, co-produced by Azhar Kamal. Lindermayr has been part of various ensembles including Schein, a funk rock band, and the Fazer quintet. His notable collaborations include work with Holger Scheidt and contributions to Carlos Cipa's album Retronyms (2019). Lindermayr won the Biberach Jazz Prize in 2012 with his quartet, received the Kurt Maas Jazz Award in 2013, and was awarded the City of Burghausen's Soloist Prize in 2017. He also earned the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize in 2018.
