Ellen Helen Nikolaysen, born in 1951, is a Norwegian singer and actress who began her career after winning NRK's Talent '70. She represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1973 as a member of the Bendik Singers and again in 1975 as a solo artist. In 1974, she won the Best Performance Award at the World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo and received Spellemannprisen nominations in 1973 and 1976. After stepping back from music in the late 1970s, Nikolaysen returned to the musical stage in the early 1990s as Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd at Det Norske Teatret. She subsequently focused increasingly on acting, appearing in musical and theatrical productions in Norway. Her discography includes Stop! I'll Give You a Song (1972), Freckles (1973), Come (1976), Christmas with Hans Petter and Ellen (1977), Songs Without Words (1983), with Sigmund Groven, and Christmas Ballad (1987).
