David Grissom is an American guitarist, songwriter, and singer. Grissom toured and recorded with John Mellencamp, after playing in Joe Ely's band in the late 1980s, contributing to Ely's albums Lord of the Highway (1987) and Dig All Night (1988). Following his work with Mellencamp, Grissom played briefly with Will and the Kill and then formed the band Storyville with Malford Milligan, David Lee Holt, Tommy Shannon, and Chris Layton. Grissom also toured with the Allman Brothers and the Dixie Chicks. His collaborative recordings include the album Texas Boy (2000), credited to Sky Malone with Double Trouble, Riley Osbourne, and Grissom. His solo albums include Loud Music (2007), 10,000 Feet (2009), which featured an acoustic version of the Storyville song “Good Day for the Blues”, Way Down Deep (2011), How It Feels to Fly (2014), and Trio (Live) 2020 (2020). Grissom played PRS guitars for most of his professional career, and his collaboration with Paul Reed Smith resulted in the DGT signature model in 2007.
