Catapult was a Dutch glam rock group formed in 1973 in the Netherlands, originally consisting of vocalist and bassist Aart Mol, vocalist Cees Bergman, guitarist Erwin van Prehn, drummer Geertjan Hessing, and keyboardist Michael Eschauzier. In April 1974, Elmer Veerhoff replaced Eschauzier on keyboards. The band's breakthrough came with the single “Hit The Big Time”, released in February 1974, which peaked at number 16 on the Dutch Singles Chart. The self-titled debut album Catapult followed in 1974, and the single “Let Your Hair Hang Down” reached number 5 on the Dutch charts that same year. Subsequent releases included “Teeny Bopper Band” (1974), “Seven-eleven” (1975), “The Stealer” (1975), and “Remember September” (1976), while the single “Here We Go” (1976) peaked at number 22. The group disbanded on December 23, 1979, after a farewell show at Feest Paleis in Beervelde. Post-disbandment activities saw members writing and producing under the company name Cat Music for other Dutch artists, and in 1996 and 1999 compilations such as The Single Collection and Let Your Hair Hang Down were issued.
