Christiana Elizabeth "Tia" Wallman, known professionally as Tia Blake, and born on April 13, 1952, in Columbus, Georgia, was an American singer-songwriter. She began her music career in Paris after moving there from North Carolina and forming Her Folk Group. In 1971, she released her debut album Folksongs & Ballads with her folk-group, which was initially only available in France. The album gained cult status during the 1990s and 2000s, with comparisons drawn to musicians such as Nick Drake and Nico. In 1973, she recorded a set of demos and rehearsals. Her debut album was reissued in 2011 by Water Music, alongside her Paris demos and CBC Montreal recordings, further cementing its status as a rediscovered lost album. After pursuing a career as a freelance writer and editor, Blake passed away from breast cancer on June 17, 2015, at the age of 63.
