Johnny Socko was an American third wave ska band formed in Bloomington, Indiana, in 1990. Founded by Joseph Welch, Mike Wiltrout, and Steve Mascari, the group released their debut album, Bovaquarium, in 1993, receiving critical acclaim from Marc D. Allan of the Indianapolis Star for its intricate writing and brilliant arrangement. The band later signed with Asian Man Records and released the EP, Oh, I DO Hope It’s Roast Beef!, in 1995. Johnny Socko was known for extensive touring, performing over 2,000 shows across notable venues. Notable releases include Full Trucker Effect (1997), Quatro (1999), and Johnny Socko (2002). The band's song "Full Trucker Effect" was featured on the Bubba The Love Sponge show on Sirius Satellite Radio. Johnny Socko stopped touring in 2003, but the original line-up reunited for one night in 2009 to open the Broad Ripple Music Fest.
