The Flaming Stars is an English garage punk band formed in November 1994 in Camden, London. The group consisted of lead singer and former Gallon Drunk drummer Max Décharné, guitarists Johnny Johnson, who was replaced by Huck Whitney in 1996, and Mark Hosking, bassist Paul Dempsey, and drummer Joe Whitney. The band gained initial attention with its debut EP, Hospital, Heaven or Hell, in March 1995, which received praise from the radio presenters John Peel and Steve Lamacq. The group released its debut studio album, Songs from the Bar Room Floor (1996), followed by Sell Your Soul to the Flaming Stars (1997) and Pathway (1999). Its fourth album, A Walk on the Wired Side (2001), yielded a minor UK hit single with the song “Some Things You Don't Forget” (2001). Subsequent albums include Sunset & Void (2002) and the tenth-anniversary release Named and Shamed (2004). After signing with Big Beat Records, the group released the compilation album London After Midnight: Singles, Rarities and Bar Room Floor-Fillers 1995-2005 on March 16, 2006, followed by its seventh studio album, Born Under a Bad Neon Sign, in September 2006. The band played a comeback gig at the Dublin Castle in Camden on October 26, 2016.
