The Diagram Brothers were an English post-punk band from Manchester, active between 1979 and 1982. The group consisted of Andy Diagram on bass guitar, Fraser Diagram on vocals and guitar, Lawrence Diagram on guitar, Jason Diagram on bass, and Simon Diagram on drums. Their unique approach to music, which they termed "Discordo," featured discordant chords, simple rock or disco beats, and straightforward lyrics. The band's first release was a 7-inch EP on the Construct label in 1980. They were subsequently signed by Buzzcocks' New Hormones label, which issued their single "Bricks", album Some Marvels of Modern Science, and 10-inch EP Discordo. The Diagram Brothers recorded three sessions for John Peel's BBC Radio 1 show, and their collected studio recordings have been released after their breakup on CD by the LTM label. Notable releases include Some Marvels of Modern Science (1981) and The Peel Sessions (2011).
