Maurice Summen, born in Stadtlohn, Germany, on 19 February 1974, is a German musician, singer, music publisher, author, and journalist. Summen grew up in Stadtlohn, worked in a record shop in Oberhausen, and studied library science in Cologne. In 2002, he founded the rock group Die Türen, and in 2003 established the independent record label Staatsakt in Berlin, launching the sub-label Fun In The Church in 2015. Under the name Maurice & Die Familie Summen, he released his debut solo single, “Zeit Zurück”, in 2017, followed by his debut solo studio album, Bmerica, later that year. He recorded his pandemic-era solo album, PayPalPop, during the 2020 lockdown and released it in 2021. In 2024, Summen co-founded the electronic music project Superspace. His other musical work included performing with the children's pop-punk band Baked Beans, writing songs for Deichkind, and hosting the podcast Disposition from 2021 to 2023.
