ili Sanchea
A bright, up and coming star in the making born and raised in the East Midlands of England Derby. From an early age of 13 her writing skills came into form including her inspiration for singing with the local Gospel Choir.
With a musical household, her fathers African background and her grandfathers love for Jazz & Blues, her drive to becoming an artist herself some day would be possible. ili Sanchea states: “Well I always felt music was the career for me and where I belong, but having not grown up in key cities in the UK like London, I had some doubt that I’d get the support/ connections to be heard let alone accomplish my dreams”.
As the UK music industry grew, her love for rap also gravitated to her through the influences of artists like Boy Better Know, So Solid Crew, Ms Dynamite, Chris Brown plus many others. In fact her first initial break came when dancehall artist Vybz Kartel noticed her talent and decided to create songs with her for release in the UK dancehall charts and Jamaica, an experience most up and coming artists wouldn’t get to do before releasing their own material. ili Sanchea has so much more to give and hopes her style can add to the growth of the UK music and presence of female artists taking on this very male dominated industry.
