Katell Keineg, born in February 1965 in Brittany, is a Breton-Welsh singer-songwriter based in Wales. Raised in both Brittany and the Rhymney Valley, she began singing at an early age, influenced by the Beatles and Led Zeppelin. Her first single "Hestia" was released in 1993 on SOL Records. Keineg's debut album Ô Seasons Ô Castles followed in 1994 under Elektra Records. Notable collaborations include singing with Natalie Merchant on her debut album Tigerlily, and contributing to Iggy Pop’s American Caesar. Her second album, Jet, was released in 1997. After a period of contractual issues, Keineg re-released her first two albums under Field Recording Co in 2002. She continued with the EP What's the Only Thing Worse Than the End of Time? and the album High July in 2004. In 2010, she released At the Mermaid Parade, which was named Album of the Week by The Sunday Times.
