Howlin' Maggie was an American alternative rock band from Columbus, Ohio, established in 1994. The four-piece ensemble was founded and fronted by multi-instrumentalist Harold “Happy” Chichester, who was previously the bassist for the group Royal Crescent Mob and a co-founder of the band The Twilight Singers. Their recording career began with their debut studio recording Honeysuckle Strange (1996), which was released through Columbia Records. Chichester performed vocals, keyboards, and guitars, and served as producer for the album, which featured the minor radio hits “Alcohol” and “I'm a Slut”. Their track “Easy to Be Stupid” was also featured on the soundtrack of the film Beautiful Girls (1996). Chichester reconfigured the lineup for their second studio recording Hyde (2001) before disbanding the group in 2002. Howlin' Maggie reunited for a single benefit concert in Columbus on November 24, 2010, to support the CD101 for the Kids charities.
