Matthew Daniel Goud, known professionally as Northcote, and born on May 17, 1985 is a Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist. He started his music career with the post-hardcore band Means from 2000 to 2008. After the band disbanded, Goud began performing solo under the name Northcote and released his debut album Borrowed Chords, Tired Eyes in 2009, followed by Gather No Dust in 2011. His self-titled album was released in 2013. Northcote has shared the stage with notable artists such as Frank Turner and Tim Barry. He released subsequent albums including Hope is Made of Steel (2015) and Let Me Roar (2020). Throughout his career, Northcote has toured extensively across Canada, Europe, and the United States.
