Buon vecchio Charlie was an Italian rock band formed in 1970 in Rome. The initial lineup included Luigi Calabrò on vocals and guitar, Sandro Centofanti on keyboards, Walter Bernardi on bass, Rino Sangiorgio on drums, and Carlo Visca on percussion. In 1971, the group recorded their debut and only album Buon vecchio Charlie, which was produced by Suono but not released until 1990 when Melos published it on CD. The album was later reissued in vinyl and CD formats with additional tracks by Akarma Records in 1999. Buon vecchio Charlie disbanded in 1972. Members went on to notable careers: Richard Benson became a television host and solo artist; Alessandro Centofanti played with Libra and collaborated with prominent Italian pop artists; Luigi Calabrò, Rino Sangiorgio, and Paolo Damiani formed the experimental group Bauhaus, winning the Villa Pamphili festival in 1974.
