Accordo dei Contrari, an Italian progressive and jazz rock band, was formed in 2001 in Bologna. The initial lineup consisted of Giovanni Parmeggiani on keyboards, Cristian Franchi on drums, and Alessandro Pedrini on guitar. In 2007, the group released their debut album Kinesis, which showcased a progressive jazz rock sound reminiscent of Soft Machine's Bundles. Following this release, Marco Marzo replaced Alessandro Pedrini on guitar in 2008. In 2011, the band released their second album, Kublai, followed by AdC in 2014. The group has performed at various festivals across Europe and the United States, including Progrésiste in Verviers, Belgium, and ProgDay in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In 2021, Accordo dei Contrari signed with Cuneiform Records and released their fifth album, UR-.
