Impaled Nazarene is a Finnish extreme metal band formed in November 1990. The group's debut studio album, Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz..., was released in 1993, followed by Ugra-Karma later that same year. Starting as a black metal band, the group incorporated elements of grindcore, thrash metal, death metal, and hardcore punk into their sound. Subsequent notable albums include Suomi Finland Perkele (1994), Latex Cult (1996), and Nihil (2000). Their lyrics often address Finnish nationalism, anti-communism, war, and Satanism. The band toured extensively with acts that include Cannibal Corpse, Mayhem, and Dark Tranquility. The group experienced several lineup changes, including the tragic death of guitarist Teemu Raimoranta on March 16, 2003, following an alcohol-related accidental fall. Despite facing live performance bans in Germany and Poland, they released further albums, which include Pro Patria Finlandia (2006) and Eight Headed Serpent (2021).
