Faal was a Dutch funeral doom metal band from Breda established in 2005. The ensemble was founded by guitarist Pascal Vervest, who was the only constant member throughout the group's history. Their recording career began with the debut studio recording Abhorrence-Salvation (2008), which was released through the label Ván Records. The work reached professional recognition after receiving positive reviews and selling out its initial pressing. Faal subsequently released the studio recording The Clouds Are Burning (2012) followed by the studio recording Desolate Grief (2018). Their discography included a split extended play with the group Eye of Solitude (2015) and the split recording Neither Tide Nor Time (2020) with the ensemble Fading Bliss. The group performed international tours with musicians including Ataraxie, Isole, and The Ocean. Vervest died on November 9, 2022, following a severe accident on November 5. His death marked the end of the ensemble. In 2024, the group released the posthumous download extended play Fin.
