Black River, a Polish rock band from Warsaw, was formed in 2008 as a reincarnation of the disbanded group Neolithic. The original lineup included Maciej Taff on vocals, Tomasz "Orion" Wróblewski on bass, Dariusz "Daray" Brzozowski on drums, and guitarists Piotr "Kay" Wtulich and Artur "Art." Kempa. Their debut album, Black River, was released in 2008 and received critical acclaim, earning nominations for the Fryderyk Award and Antyradio Prize. The band's second album, Black'n'Roll, followed in September 2009, featuring the single "Black'n'Roll" and a music video for "Lucky in Hell". In May 2010, Maciej Taff temporarily stepped away from the group due to health issues, leading to the release of the compilation album Trash later that year. After a hiatus, Black River returned in 2018 with the album Humanoid, which was released in 2019, followed by Generation aXe in 2022.
