Marcelle Bordas was a French singer born on June 1, 1897 in Paris. She began her career working as a hat designer in a fashion studio, where she met various artists. In 1934, Bordas started recording songs for the label DISCUM. Her breakthrough came in 1935 with the song "Femme à Barbe". During World War II, Bordas participated in numerous tours for the armed forces and performed at the Franco-British gala at the Opéra de Paris in April 1940. She was also known for her patriotic songs during the Vichy regime, notably "Ah! que la France est belle". Her most famous song, "Boire un petit coup (c'est agréable)", was released in 1948. Post-war, Bordas returned to a repertoire of maritime and military themes. She passed away on January 29, 1968 in Paris.
