Maxophone, an Italian progressive rock band formed in Milan in 1973, released their self-titled debut album in 1975 under the Produttori Associati record label. Maxophone's music featured complex arrangements inspired by classical and jazz music, showcasing the band's musical skill. They also released an English-language version of their album to appeal to a wider audience. In 1976, they performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Following the release of their single "Il Fischio del Vapore" in 1977, the band disbanded. In 2008, the band reformed, releasing Live Recorded At Club Città on April 26, 2013 in 2013 and La Fabbrica Delle Nuvolea in 2017.
