José Antonio Bottiroli (born on January 20, 1920) was an Argentine classical music composer, pianist, and poet from Rosario. Bottiroli studied under Nicolás Alfredo Alessio and graduated from the National University of the Littoral in 1948 with a professorship in music, receiving the Rotary Club Award. Bottiroli served as the director of the Vocal Women's Sextet Juan María Gutiérrez and performed as a pianist in solo recitals and chamber duets. In 1951, he conducted the Rosario Symphony Orchestra. His composition “Belgrano March – Song” was adopted as an official school repertoire piece by decree in 1960 and was premiered in 1962. Bottiroli received a scholarship to study in Europe in 1970, where his chamber works were premiered in Rome. Throughout his career, Bottiroli composed 117 musical works and 85 poems. Bottiroli died on March 15, 1990, in Rosario. His complete output was registered with the Library of Congress in 2012, and the album Complete Piano Works 1: Waltzes was released in 2020.
