Lei Huiwei, also known as Annabelle Lui, was born on July 4, 1959, in Hong Kong, and is a singer, actress, and television host. She was discovered by Chan Dik-Man of Hong Kong PolyGram. Her breakthrough came with the theme song "When People Are Tears on the Road" from the Rediffusion Television drama Blowing in the Wind, which she recorded with Michael Kwan. She released her solo album, Don't Remember the Old Dreams (舊夢不須記), in 1981. The single "Old Dreams Don't Need to Be Remembered" (舊夢不須記) topped the Commercial Radio chart for nine consecutive weeks and was selected as one of Hong Kong Radio's top ten of the year. After emigrating to Canada, she stepped away from the Hong Kong music industry and established herself as a singing teacher. She also hosted a program on New Age Television in Vancouver, mentored contestants for the Vancouver auditions of the New Talent Singing Awards, and continued to perform in Canada, the United States, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
