Vernian Process, an American neoclassical dark wave band formed in San Francisco in 2003, took its name from Jules Verne's works, focusing on Victorian scientific romance and steampunk themes. Initially a solo project by vocalist Joshua Pfeiffer, Vernian Process released albums like Discovery (2004) and The Forgotten Age (2006). Pfeiffer collaborated with Martín Irigoyen on Behold the Machine (2010), transitioning to a full band with Steven Farrell and Vincent Van Veen. Notable releases include "Something Wicked (That Way Went)" (2011). The group performed at festivals such as Steamcon in Seattle and contributed to projects like the steampunk web series Dirigible Days, for which they wrote "New Horizons" (2012).
