Elixir is an Australian jazz trio formed in Brisbane in 1997 by Katie Noonan and Nick Stewart, both from the band george, along with River Petein. Isaac Hurren joined prior to the release of their self-titled debut album, Elixir, on May 19, 2003. Stephen Magnusson joined on guitar in 2005 following the departures of Petein and Stewart, as the group developed a reputation for spontaneous, live improvisation. The trio released First Seed Ripening on August 5, 2011, which won the ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album. Subsequent albums include Gratitude and Grief on August 31, 2018, and A Small Shy Truth on October 27, 2023.
