Sarah Streeter, known professionally as Big Time Sarah, was born on January 31, 1953 in Coldwater, Mississippi, and relocated to Chicago at age seven. She began singing in gospel choirs in South Chicago churches and debuted as a blues vocalist at age 14 during a jam session at Morgan's Lounge. Her breakthrough came with the single featuring “Big Time Operator” and the self-written “Long Tall Daddy” on Sunnyland Slim's Airway label, leading to tours with Slim, Buddy Guy, and Junior Wells. In 1982, she recorded the album Blues with the Girls in Paris, France during a European tour. She went on to release Undecided (1985), before forming her backing band, the BTS Express, in 1989. She signed with Delmark Records, releasing Lay It on 'em Girls (1993), Blues in the Year One-D-One (1996), and A Million of You (2001). Streeter was a prominent Chicago blues figure until her death from heart complications on June 13, 2015.
