Hidden deep in the forests of rural Shropshire, England, Striped McCoy scavenges for a blend of LoFi-rock and experimental electronic influences to fuse with catchy hooks. With this, McCoy is able to use the juxtaposition of his melancholic lyricism and bouncy instrumentals to avoid any feral predators, making them wonder if they should be happy or sad just long enough for him to escape.
"None of it feels forced in a way that is in competition with other music, It all feels like a personal art piece." - Stay Creative Podcast.
"Somber yet fuzzy and comforting. As indistinguishable as those things may be to some, to me they are what make Striped McCoy so unique. Complicated songs, built on lyrics that are grounded in everyday adventures hardships we all face as emotional human beings." - IndieMusicFeedback Blog
In March of 2020 Striped McCoy released his debut lofi-pop and electronic album 'it's all a mess, really' and subsequently followed up with a series of genre widening singles. Going from the emo-rock single "Cartoon Network" to the dream-pop infused "wicker bones" and alternative piece "Cold", Striped isn't afraid to explore differing genres.
