ELFENSJóN, a Japanese doujin music circle, was founded in 2018 by Mangaka Kachiru Ishizue and metal musician Keisuke Kurose. The duo's shared interest in dark fantasy led to the creation of ELFENSJóN, which was supported by various musicians from Japan’s independent scene. Their music combined elements of metal, rock, and djent with anime influences, a style they referred to as "animecore." Their debut EP Einherjar was released in 2018, followed by their first album, Ash of Rouge, in 2019. Subsequent releases include A.namnesis in 2020 and Ephemera in 2021. Notable singles include "Lunatic Mirage" (2020), "Dawn" (2022), and "Eclipse" (2022). The group has collaborated with artists like okogeeechann from Adust Rain and Myu from Imy. Despite their success, ELFENSJóN frequently rejected requests to perform live due to conceptual challenges and the complexity of their music.
