Lead Into Gold is a musical side project of industrial musician Paul Barker. Primarily a solo endeavor by Barker, who is also recognized for his role as the former bassist for Ministry and his contributions to the Luxa/Pan production team, Lead Into Gold featured occasional guest performances from Ministry bandmates Al Jourgensen and Bill Rieflin, as well as Stuart Zechman of Stabbing Westward. The project's debut release was the EP Idiot in 1988, followed by the single "Chicks & Speed: Futurism" and the album Age Of Reason in 1990. In 2015, Lead Into Gold released a limited edition 12” EP titled Low And Slow, roughly 25 years after its recording. This was followed by new music releases in 2018, including the single "A Savage Gift / Inside A Golden Sun" and the full-length album The Sun Behind The Sun.
